Code M written Shubhra Chatterji

Code M is a drama series that explores the life of an Indian Army lawyer, Monica Mehra, who discovers some discrepancies in an open and shut case which eventually leads her to learn about the conspiracy surrounding the case. The show stars Jennifer Winget and Tanuj Virwani in pivotal roles.

Kaafir - Bhavani Iyer and Sonam Nair

Penned by Bhavani Iyer and directed by Sonam Nair, Kaafir tells the story of a Pakistani woman who accidentally crosses the border and gets trapped in Indian prison for suspicion over espionage. Played by Dia Mirza, the character Kainaaz Akhtar undergoes several hardships including rape and injustice. The series beautifully depicts the idea of humanity being mankind’s only religion. The series also stars Mohit Raina and Dishita Jain.

Posham Pa - Nimisha Misra and Suman Mukhopadhyay

ZEE5 Original’s Posham Pa is a psychological thriller that follows the life of India’s first female duo who were given the death penalty for the series of murders committed by them. The film traces the story of how a mother convinced and rather coerced her daughters into a life of crime. Dark and disturbing, Posham Pa really leaves you horrified. The Original stars Mahie Gill, Sayani Gupta, and Ragini Khanna.

The Sholay Girl - Shrabani Deodhar

Ever wondered how actresses survived before the introduction of a stuntwoman for action sequences in films? Well, you don’t have to anymore as you can watch The Sholay Girl! The story has been penned by author Manju Kapur, who received tremendous acclaim for putting forth passionate and unnerving characters who go beyond all odds for love. The series stars Monica Dogra and Ridhi Dogra in pivotal roles.

High Priestess - Pushpa Ignatius

The ZEE5 Original Telugu series which marks the debut of Amala Akkineni, is a tale of a tarot card reader, Swathi Reddy. Twist occurs when she finds herself entrapped in a missing person’s case which takes her to the past of several of her clients. Gritty and dark, the series went on to receive positive critical reception.

Hutatma - Meena Deshpande (author)

Hutatma is a ZEE5 Original Marathi series that explores the story of how Maharashtra came into existence and how Bombay became its capital. It highlights the struggle of the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement and the Marathi manus who relentlessly fought for their state’s identity. The story is based on a book written by Meena Deshpande.

Cabaret - Pooja Bhatt (co-writer)
