Those of you with a hair type that is quite dry, try applying a mixture of one teaspoon of honey, one egg, and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. You may halve or double this measurement according to the length of your hair. Leave on for 30 to 40 minutes before rinsing off, and you will notice how much more hydrated your tresses are after this.
2. For an irritated scalp
To soothe a scalp that is irritated, leaving your hair looking lacklustre, make a mixture of one cup of green tea, two drops of peppermint oil and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Massage into your scalp, and leave on for approximately five minutes before rinsing off. This will rejuvenate and nourish your hair and scalp.
3. For greasy hair
If your hair is prone to getting extremely greasy, take one egg white and the juice of half a lemon and mix well. Coat your hair from root to tips with this, and leave on for at least 30 minutes (an hour is even better!). Wash off with water that is lukewarm and not hot, and your hair will look and feel much cleaner and bouncier. The protein enzymes in the egg white helps to absorb excess oil.
4. For dull hair
If your hair tends to lose its shine and feel limp, give it a lift by applying equals parts of apple cider vinegar, raw honey and coconut oil that has been blended together. Keep this in your hair for at least 20 minutes before shampooing off. This treatment will add a glossy sheen to your locks and help lock in moisture.
5. For hair that won't grow
If you are trying to grow out your hair, but notice that it seems to take unusually long, try applying a mixture of equal parts of ground cinnamon powder and coconut oil to your roots and scalp, and massage well. Leave on for 30 to 40 minutes, and then wash off. Try to do this at least once a week, as the cinnamon helps promote hair growth by improving the blood circulation in your scalp.
