Birthday Special: 6 Films That Spiked The Graph In Natural Actor Nani’s Filmography

As we celebrate Natural star Nani's 36th birthday, let's take a bow for the six films that truly stripped every ounce of talent on the big screen.

Happy Birthday, Nani!

Are you cutting the cake today? Because Natural Star Nani, and the man who won every heart with his smile, turns 36 today. In life, everything is connected to something bigger, and the universe truly takes you on the right path. A birdseye view at Nani’s life stands as a testament to it. Born as Navdeep Babu Ghanta, this young boy got addicted to watching films and legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam has had a great influence on him. But fate had something else in store for him.

The filmmaker Nandini Reddy we know was once a Radio Jockey and offered a show to Nani. And he continued to entertain the people of Hyderabad, on World Space Satellite, with Non-Stop Nani in his unmissable baritone voice. And then, it was his addiction that got him onto the sets of Srinu Vaitla and Bapu’s films. Thereon, the assistant director found himself in an audition room and then on the TV-commercial spaces. Until he was finally noticed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti, and got offered Ashta Chamma.

Since it’s release, finding a girl who hasn’t fallen for his sweet, humble charm is as difficult as finding water in a desert. So, ladies and gentlemen, treat yourself to six of his amazing films on Nani’s birthday.

Ashta Chamma

Ashta Chamma starred Nani, a debutante, alongside popular artistes Srinivas Avasarla and Swathi Reddy. The film was a romantic-comedy in all its glory, but on-screen it was so much more. Nani broke the mould and won everyone’s heart with his skills. Sure, he could act. But he could make you laugh too. And that’s what was truly a game-changer.

Bheemili Kabbadi Jattu

Nani saw a flop right after a successful debut, we’re sure it must have been hard. But he wasn’t the one to wallow in sadness. He returned with a bigger bang in Bheemili Kabbadi Jattu. A romantic-drama centered around sports, this film reinforced that all Nani needed was a playground to polish his acting skills.

Ala Modalaindi

Finally came Ala Modalaindi, with Nithya Menen who was making her Telugu debut. This film, in particular, can take home all the applauses. Now, Nani wasn’t an actor who knew how to be natural. Now, Nani was the man of every girl’s heart and the new lover-boy on the block.

Nenu Local

Many high and lows later, Nani returned with something new, Nenu Local. It was a template that we had known before, but the way he showcased it, along with Keerthy Suresh and other talented actors, made everything much better.

Devadas brought Nani with Nagarjuna in a film that was mainly about brotherhood. Here, Nani matched up to the levels of the celluloid scientist. He showed the world that he could make you laugh with the same intensity that he could make you cry. More importantly, he managed to do them both, in a few seconds.

Topping it off with the film that was as good as the icing on a cake. Jersey, which released earlier last year, went on to become Nani’s highest-grossing film, it broke box office records and also made it to the critics’ list of best films. The first full-fledged sports drama in Telugu, this film truly took out every ounce of talent in this actor and shone it like a diamond on the 70mm screen.

On this big day, we wish the actor many more amazing films and unlimited hits. You, my friend, on the other hand, can enjoy his amazing films on ZEE5.
