Coronavirus: Here’s Why Vikram Vedha Actor Vijay Sethupathi Ignored The Lockdown Orders

Vijay Sethupathi, who is currently one of the most sought after actors in the South Indian film industry, has hit the headlines after he attended the wake ceremony of senior journalist Nellai Bharathi. While the citizens are strictly following the guidelines of lockdown, Sethupathi, who is fondly called Makkal Selvan by fans for his kind heart, visited the journalist’s residence in Porur (Chennai) to pay him last respects. Reportedly, the senior journalist Nellai Bharathi breathed his last on a Friday morning due to prolonged illness.

While the South Indian film fraternity took to the micro-blogging site to express their grief and condolences, Vijay Sethupathi personally visited the family to offer condolences in this difficult time and pay his last respects to the senior journalist. The lockdown imposed due to the COVID-19 outbreak hasn’t deterred the actor from making this humanitarian gesture. Sethupathi has not only risked his life to step out of the house amid the global pandemic but also provided financial support to the family to perform the last rites ceremony. The actor has definitely won a million hearts with this kind gesture.

The pictures from the senior journalist’s funeral have been doing the rounds on social media. In the pictures, the actor can be seen interacting with the late journalist Nellai Bharathi’s family.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi had been otherwise sincerely following the lockdown, ever since Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposed it to curb the virus spread. In fact, the actor has been spending quality time at home with his family. Since the film industry has been shut down, this is only time the actors get to spend time with their respective families.

On the professional front, Vijay Sethupathi, who will be seen playing the antagonist in Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Master, will resume shooting after the lockdown. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the much-awaited film, Master, which was supposed to release on April 09, 2020, has now been postponed to June. Besides, Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, the film features Malavika Mohanan and Andrea Jeremiah in prominent roles. Stay tuned!
