Devi 2 Review: ‘Spirited’ Prabhu Deva And Tamannaah’s Chemistry Is The Film’s Highlight

Devi, directed by AL Vijay narrated Ruby's story. And to tell the stories of Alex Britto and Ranga Reddy, the makers have come up with Devi 2.

Devi 2

You might have heard about people getting possessed by spirits. But do you know about any instance when two ghosts seek refuge in a person’s body at the same time? Well, this is a rare supernatural phenomenon experienced by Krishna Kumar (essayed by Prabhu Deva), a man who loves his wife, Devi (played by Tamannaah Bhatia) a lot. Incidentally, a spirit named Ruby had possessed Devi, and it took a while for Krishna to rid her of it.

And now, it is Devi’s turn to save her husband from becoming home to not one but two ghosts. The first installment of the film directed by AL Vijay narrated Ruby’s story. And to tell the stories of Alex Britto and Ranga Reddy, the makers have come up with the second part.

Devi 2 begins with Krishna taking his wife away to Mauritius to keep her away from the influence of Ruby, who committed suicide after slipping into depression. However, his decision to fly to the island country proves disastrous after he gets possessed by two spirits. How and what Devi does to save her husband from Alex Britto and Ranga Reddy, becomes the crux of the story.

The filmmaker has kept the narrative clean and straightforward. The horror-comedy also stars veteran actress Kovai Sarala, who plays an advocate named Lalitha. The sisterly bond between Lalitha and Devi will melt your heart while the comic scenes in the film will leave you in splits.

The ghosts that possess Krishna’s body earnestly want to accomplish their unfulfilled desires. Hence, they take help of his body to complete their task.

Tamannah, Prabhu Deva and Kovai Sarala have played their parts well and it is refreshing to see them play such funny roles. Tamannah and Prabhu Deva share sweet chemistry, and it feels nice to see them together on the screen. Overall, Devi 2 is a good film that you can enjoy with your family.
