ZEE5’s promise of entertaining you under #Lockdown continues with this newest list of films. This includes action thrillers like Ugly to romantic comedies like Aisha. It also includes a number of niche films that created quite a buzz and remain cult movies like Monsoon Shootout and My Brother Nikhil. Here’s the list of new films you can watch for FREE right now on ZEE5.
Ugly starring Ronit Roy and directed by Anurag Kashyap is one of the best neo-noir films from the past decade atleast. Surveen Chawla puts on an impressive performance in this highly-rated suspense thriller. Also keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance by Alia Bhatt.

Aisha starring Sonam Kapoor, Lisa Haydon, Amrita Puri and Ira Dubey was the go-to film about female friendships before Veere Di Wedding, which co-incidentally also stars Sonam Kapoor. Another special part of this film is also revisiting the amazing soundtrack. The film is based on the 19th century novel Emma by Jane Austen.
3. Monsoon Shootout
Monsoon Shootout created quite a stir when it released India’s first interactive movie trailer where you decide whether to shoot or not. The film itself goes through two different narratives and is like nothing you’ve seen in Indian cinema before this. The movie is produced by Oscar winning producer Guneet Monga and was even screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
4. My Brother Nikhil
My Brother Nikhil is another special film because it was one of the first films to show a homosexual character on screen. This widely under-appreciated film is sure to tug at your emotions and bring out a tear or more by the end of it. Watch this film to learn more about a perspective on life your rarely seen on screen.
5. Saat Ucchakey
Saat Ucchakey is a comedy-caper around the lives of seven small-time crooks. This film boasts of a strong cast including Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpai, Vijay Raaz, Kay Kay Menon, and Aparshakti Khurana. Watch this film set in Delhi about a robbery gone wrong on ZEE5.
Lamhaa is one of those rare movies that tries to highlight the dire situation in Kashmir. While this film released in 2010, you might find some of the themes relevant even today, a decade later. This film stars Sanjay Dutt alongside Bipasha Basu, Kunal Kapoor, and Anupam Kher.
7. Midnight's Children
Midnight’s Children is based on the Booker Prize winning novel of the same name. The film is narrated by the author himself, Salman Rushdie, and it tells the story from the partition of India up to the Emergency era. This film starring Rahul Bose, Seema Biswas, and Shahana Goswami among others was well reviewed internationally as well.
Siddhant a sweet children’s film to watch with the entire family. This Marathi movie dubbed in Hindi tells the story of how mathematics helps a grandfather bond with his grandchild, played by Vikram Gokhle and Archit Dewadhar respectively. The film shows how that relationship is affected when the grandfather realises that his grandson is cheating to get good marks.
Sixteen is a coming-of-age film about four teenagers who try to understand their chaotic phase of life. They lose their innocence and find wisdom along the way. This film will give you an honest look at your teenage years where you remember the good moments and learn what mistakes to not make.
