Today is International Nurses Day which is celebrated every year on May 12 to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. This day is observed worldwide to honour the contribution of nurses who account for nearly half the population of healthcare workers. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is a stark reminder of the vital role that nurses play in saving lives. Various actors from the film industry have come forward to applaud their efforts and thank them publicly on social media. Amongst them, Sonalee Kulkarni, Swwapnil Joshi, Amruta Khanvilkar, and Sai Tamhankar expressed gratitude on Twitter.

Sonalee uploaded a heartfelt post on Twitter, writing “thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul.” She shared a cartoon with a caption that read ‘superheroes wear masks’. The Hampi actress conveyed that nurses are no less than superheroes, especially in these tough times.
