3. Sairat : Teenaged romance? Sairat is a tale of two lovers from a small village in Maharashtra. Starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, this film is about two strastruck lovers who struggle for their love. Rinku aka Archi’s family is super rich and has a political background. 4. Fandry : Another classic by Nagraj Manjule, Fandry is based upon the caste issue inMaharashtra. The young boy protagonist falls in love with a girl from a considerably higher caste and this is a big issue as it is unacceptable by the society. 5. Shwaas : An emotional tale of a grandfather’s hope of bringing colours to his grandson’s blind eyes, Shwaas is a fresh breath in the category of cinema. A slow builder in terms of story, the film was India’s official entry for Oscars in 2004.
