Shukranu Music Review: Melodious Tracks With Its Vintage Vibes Will Take You Back In Time

Shukranu has songs crooned by artists like Abhijeet and Shaan, who bring a retro vibe to the music.

Still from Shukranu with Divyenndu, Sheetal and Shweta

ZEE5 Original Film Shukranu has been making quite a lot of noise in the social media sphere. It stars Divyenndu, Shweta Basu Prasad and Sheetal Thakur in pivotal roles. The film, directed by Bishnu Dev Halder, brings an amusing touch to a sensitive subject. The film, with its quirk characters, has managed to win hearts. However, even the music of the film seems to have tugged onto the hearts of many.

As the theme of the film is set in the 70’s, much of the music and singing style takes you back in time. Although the movie has only two songs sung by Abhijeet and Shaan, the two veteran singers certainly manage to bring back the magic of the retro era. Interestingly, the songs perfectly fit in the scenes projected on the screen. The two love songs seem to be a dedication of the protagonist’s interest in two diverse women that he is involved with.

Khwaab Hai Ya Haqeeqat is sung by Abhijeet. The peppy beats with Abhijeet’s voice make it look like it has been snatched straight from a different era. The light and breezy music are easy on the ears. The track Jee Le Mere Dil is crooned by Shaan, who does full justice to the song. Once again, there is this latent retro vibe which pops up as you watch Divyenndu romance Sheetal Thakur in the scene.

The plot of Shukranu explores the dark times of Indian history when men were attacked and forcefully sterilized. While the backdrop of the plot is set in the 70’s when men were forcefully operated on to get a vasectomy, Shukranu brings a comic relief by making it a love triangle. It certainly is a romcom but with an important storyline that has its focus set on the perils and taboo concerning sterilisation. The ZEE5 Original film has received various positive reviews from film critics as well as viewers on the platform. If you haven’t had a chance to get a peek at it then we suggest you make this your weekend plan!
