1. Prosenjit

While the current pandemic of the novel coronavirus has gripped the entire world and thrown nations into disarray, it may be heartening to know that the crisis has prompted many a citizen to step up and help out. Among these are some of the biggest personalities in Tollywood, including Prosenjit, Rituparna Sengupta and Sourav Ganguly.

Superstar Prosenjit, who has acted in movies like Shiva and Mayurakshi among numerous others, has come forward to donate generously to the fund for Coronavirus relief set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is not alone in doing this either.

2, Rituparna Sengupta

Rituparna Sengupta, another versatile and respected heroine who has acted in Praktan and Alik Sukh as well as Drishtikone, has also donated to the Prime Minister’s fund. She has also contributed to the West Bengal chief minister’s fund for emergency relief, Kolkata Endeavour Society, IHA Foundation and many other trusts.

3. Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly or Dada, BCCI President, cricketing champion and host of the Bengali reality TV show  Dadagiri Unlimited, has donated Rs 50 lakh worth of rice to underprivileged children who have been put in governments schools in Bengal in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

4. Raj Chakraborty

Ace film director Raj Chakraborty who has made the Bengali romantic film Parineeta recently donated to the PM Cares Fund too, and has been staying safely at home just like the rest of us. Donations can be made digitally so you can also contribute to the trust of your choice during this period.

5. Subhashree Ganguly

Subhashree Ganguly, the popular actor who has starred in Parineeta and is now married to Raj, has done her part by making a donation to the Prime Minister’s relief fund too. It is spiriting to see that so many have been spurred into action during such a time of need.

6. Sreelekha Mitra

Actor Sreelekha Mitra who has previously featured in the ZEE5 Original Swade Ahlade, has been feeding the stray dogs in her area regularly. Mask firmly in place, she makes the round early in the morning to ensure that they don’t starve from a lack of available food during the crisis. She owns two pet dogs herself, so perhaps it is no surprise that she is passionate about their well-being.
