These stars have been ruling the silver screen with their talents in acting. Here’s a list of five A-listers from M-Town who kickstarted their careers as child artists and made their mark in the film industry. Adinath is currently in the headlines for his dream debut in Bollywood with ’83 opposite Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. But did you know that the actor started out as a child artist? Adinath debuted with Maza Chakula, a film directed by his father Mahesh Kothare back in 1994. He had essayed the role of Adi who yearns to reunite with his mother after getting lost in the crowded city of Mumbai. After this film, there was no looking back for the actor who bagged role after role on the silver screen.
2. Swwapnil Joshi
Swwapnil Joshi also kickstarted his dazzling career after working as a child actor in Uttar Ramayan. The Mumbai Pune Mumbai actor was seen in this mythological show as Lord Ram’s son Kush. Swwapnil’s amazing skills were noticed early on as he was cast again in the mythological role of Shri Krishna when he was merely 16. The talented actor eventually cast away all these stereotypical roles and came to be known as the king of romance. He has appeared in superhit films like Mitwa, Duniyadari, and Tu Hi Re.
3. Sachin Pilgaonkar
Considered to be a veteran of the Marathi film industry, Sachin Pilgaonkar did over 60 films as a child artist. The most notable ones include Ha Maza Marg Ekla which earned him the National Award at age 4. Woah! Can you believe it? His talents were recognised by Bollywood and he was offered roles in landmark films like Sholay, Jewel Thief, Brahmachari, Nadiya Ke Paar, and many others. Sachin was last seen in the musical Katyar Kaljat Ghusali, a film which got him widespread critical acclaim.
4. Priya Bapat
Priya Bapat is known for her memorable roles in Gachchi, Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, Kaksparsh, Aamhi Doghi, and Happy Journey. The actress who’s quite popular in pulling off any role with ease also entered the industry as a child artist. She was seen in a children’s show on Zee Marathi titled De Dhamaal. The actress was later cast in the role of Young Ramabai in her debut film Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar directed by Jabbar Patel in the year 2000.
5. Spruha Joshi
The Rangbazz actress Spruha Joshi was also spotted as a child artist after she appeared in De Dhamal alongside Priya Bapat. Spruha’s career took off after the show, as she landed up with her debut film in Marathi Maai Baap. She continued to scale heights in her starlit career with shows like Eka Lagnachi Dusri Gostha and Eka Lagnachi Teesri Goshta. The actress is now an accomplished lyricist, poet, writer, and a fabulous anchor.
