In the previous episode of Vettai, Angel (a call girl) meets Nanda for lunch. She replaces Nanda’s house keys without his knowledge with the intention to send him food to impress him. Meanwhile, Dayanithi meets Shanmugham and asks him to prove his innocence but the latter does not speak up, thinking that the Chief will suspend or blacklist him on finding out about his gambling habit. Later, Dayanithi tells Seelan that his informer has told him that they have a traitor in their team.
Dayanithi then seeks Seelan’s help to find the traitor, asking him to keep a watch on the team to see if he notices anything suspicious. Meanwhile, Mugi and Prakash, who are investigating the murder case, receive input and they try to decode the mystery. Later, Shan goes to gamble once again and Dayanithi catches him at the crime spot.

In the sixth episode, Dayanithi, who catches Shan red-handed at the crime spot, asks him about his connection to this case. Shan reveals the truth by saying that he has been addicted to gambling for six years and is unable to get the habit out of his system. He further tells Dayanithi that he was also present at the hotel when the murder took place but he has nothing to do with it. Shan then apologises to Dayanithi but the latter tells him that while he is not fired, but he will also not be able to serve until his gambling addiction is gone.
Later, Dayanidhi speaks to Seelan about Shan’s gambling habit. While Seelan is happy that Shan is not involved in this murder, Dayanithi tells him that he, however, suspects Shan to be the traitor of the team. So, he asks Seelan to keep an eye on Shan.
Meanwhile, Mugi and Prakash interrogate the manager of the pooling centre to find clues about the murder case. Later, Shan tells his sister that he has been suspended from his work, and the latter pacifies him. Is Dayanithi’s guess true? Is Shan traitor in the team? Stay tuned!
