Every year, in over 120 countries, World Music Day or International Music Day is celebrated on June 21. This also includes its country of origin – France, where it is known as ‘Fête de la Musique‘, which means ‘festival of music’. This idea of celebrating International Music Day was conceived back in 1982; A French composer Maurice Fleuret started the tradition of holding a music fest and it was held on the streets of Paris.
Now it’s is celebrated worldwide after it became a huge success in a few years. The intention to hold this music festival is not only to celebrate freedom and the spirit of the art of music but also to honour all those musicians, who changed our lives with their compositions. We can’t be thankful enough to have received some amazing artists over the years.
